GREG TAYLOR had to leave the pitch injured in Celtic’s return leg against AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League Qualifying round due to a shoulder issue. He then left the field while Celtic beat Ross County early last month with what looked to be a similar issue.

It was ruled the defender would require surgery, but today we have been given a positive update on the Scotsman’s road to recovery.

The Daily Record has reported that Taylor has been ruled out until the end of November, leaving Celtic without their first-choice left-back for over two months.

However, there are positives to take from this.

His time away from the team will allow Adam Montgomery to keep developing in the position.

It will also give Liam Scales the chance to have a run in the team, he has only appeared once and that is from the bench. Boli Bolingoli may be given the nod again after he surprisingly started against Livingston a couple of weeks ago.
