ON Tuesday afternoon, PFA Scotland announced their Team of the Year for 2022/23, and Celtic were well represented, but Jota was bizarrely snubbed.
Seven of Ange Postecoglou‘s men were included in the eleven, namely Joe Hart, Carl Starfelt, Cameron Carter–Vickers, Greg Taylor, Callum McGregor, Reo Hatate and Kyogo.
However, one player who was missing from the team was Jota. Despite making numerous contributions to the team‘s success this season with 21 goal contributions, the Portuguese winger was overlooked in favour of Malik Tillman.
This is particularly noteworthy, as Tillman has made 14 goal contributions in the league this campaign, and has played fewer minutes than Jota.
Celtic fan and pundit Trevor Sinclair is sharing the cunfosusion, admitting he can’t get his head around the snub.
Taking to Twitter, he said:
13 goals & 10 assists with some incredible moments in the biggest games …… make it make sense pic.twitter.com/FQTYLIFYAm
