CARL STARFELT has made his first competitive start for his country as they travel to face Solvenia in the Nations League.

It’s matchday one in group H, so Sweden will look to get their first three points. It’s certainly a winnable group for the country. Slovenia, Norway and Serbia make up the group.

It’s an excellent reward for Carl, who’s just turned 27. He’s been great for Celtic in recent months and deserves a place in the national team.

Starfelt replaces Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof, who’s currently injured. Nevertheless, it’s an outstanding achievement for the player. Hopefully, he can impress and push his way into the manager’s thoughts for future games.

A whole host of Starfelts teammates are in action tonight. Giakouamkis is looking to continue his goal-scoring form to impress his new boss, with Abada also looking to impress to cement his place in the senior Isreal side, with Bitton alongside him.
