Michael Stewart has paid Celtic the biggest compliment possible by posting this evening after their Glasgow rivals were dumped out of another Scottish Cup.

Steven Gerrard’s men were beaten on penalties by St Johnstone ending their hopes of a double.

This was months after St Mirren knocked them out of the league cup.

Michael Stewart congratulated their form in the league but passively made it clear Celtic winning four consecutive trebles was an incredible feat.

Celtic weren’t just consistent in the league, in one off cup games they kept delivering. As we witnessed on Sunday night, ANYTHING can happen in a cup game and your dreams of lifting the trophy are over.

Celtic went four seasons in a row without losing a single fomenting cup game, hoovering up four trebles in a row. It’s incredible, but even as I say that, I don’t think how incredible this run has been for Celtic will be truly appreciated until years down the line.
