Kris Commons believe the comparison between Brendan Rodgers invincible side and this seasons league winners are 100% over.

The former Celtic player turned pundit says it doesn’t even matter if they go through the last few games undefeated in the league. They’ve not laid a glove on what Celtic done.

There were so many pundits who tried to diminish Celtic hoovering up trophies during an incredible four year run but as we’ve witnessed this season – it’s just not that easy to keep winning, especially in one-off cup ties.

During Celtic’s invincible season they started their run with a victory against Hearts and would go on to score in the final minute of the Aberdeen game to become the true invincible treble winners. It was an incredible feat.

Commons rightly believes the comparison between the two teams is dead in the water, speaking to SunSport.

“For me, these results should shatter any possibility of this Rangers team being referred to as ‘Invincibles’ in years to come.

“Even if they do go on to finish the league season unbeaten, I don’t see how you can mention them in the same breath as Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic team of 2016-17.

“They were true Invincibles who won every single domestic trophy available to them without losing a game.

“By definition, something which is invincible is too powerful to be overcome… It simply cannot be defeated.

“You could say that about Rodgers’ Celtic team; you can’t say it about Gerrard’s Rangers.

“The Ibrox side went into both of those matches against St Johnstone and St Mirren knowing that Celtic were already out of the equation.

“But they have now fluffed their lines once again – and it raises fresh questions over the mentality of this team.”

Celtic will end the season with no silverware for the first time in 11 years. We have to get our own house in order and make sure that doesn’t happen again.

We can’t be as bad as we’ve been this season and other clubs luck can’t go on forever.

It’s been a strange season on the whole. Watching a goalkeeper stick his head on the end of a corner to score a last minute equaliser almost feels like par for the course.

Celtic’s invincibles simply did not allow their opponents the opportunity to win.

I doubt we’ll ever see an invincible season like 16/17.
