It is a known fact that Celtic are in the hunt for a striker this January. It has already been confirmed that Oh Hyeon-gyu could miss up to five matches over the next two months due to the Asian Cup, as could Kyogo.

A new frontman is required, and a name that has been widely mentioned is Bojan Miovski. Initial links with the player were established at the beginning of December.

Former Hoops hero John Hartson would be all for a move for the centre-forward, who has bagged 14 goals in all competitions this campaign: “I think he’d be a brilliant signing for Celtic”, he said (Go Radio Football Show via Glasgow Times). “I think he gets players playing off him. Fantastic at holding it up. You know you got really good signs of getting a hold of the ball, linking players in, he’s a wonderful finisher. I would pay £5 million for him. I think he’s an outstanding player.”

It seems as though Celtic would need to cough up a fair stump of cash if they are to bring the North Macedonian internationalist through the door in January. It is money that is available, though.

If The Bhoys are to sustain a proper title fight and give themselves the greatest chance of success, they need to utilise the figures they have in the bank. Striker is a key position that needs addressing, and it is certain Miovski would bring added quality, strength, and depth at the top end of the pitch.

His goalscoring attributes are plain for all to see and at 24 years of age, the Dons hitman still has vast room for improvement. He is yet to hit his peak years but is taking the cinch Premiership by storm.

A move wouldn’t be surprising, to say the least, but Aberdeen will be reluctant to lose one of their key assets midway through the campaign.
