Mohamed Elyounoussi fielded questions about if he could stay at Celtic beyond his loan deal which ends next summer. The midfielder has been hitting top form over the last couple of weeks and is becoming a valuable member of the first team squad – scoring two goals in Celtic’s rout of Hibernian at Hampden.

Celtic got Mohamed on-loan because his chances at Southampton were few and far between since making his move to England. The St Mary’s side spent £16m on the midfielder and have hardly used him.

Celtic could only dream of paying that much for just one player never mind the massive wages which would come along with that sort of fee.

Celtic fans need to enjoy the player while he’s here and try to not get bogged down if he’s going to come back. Player’s can make a large and lasting impact in just one season – we’ve seen it happen before.

Asked if he could stay it was the bog standard response from a guy who really doesn’t know where his future lies or if he does – doesn’t want to annoy his parent club or Celtic.l

“I am enjoying being at Celtic now” Elyounoussi told Planet Radio (1hr into the broadcast.)

“I came here to get more minutes and become a better football player

“At the moment I just think about the next game, next training.

“We’ll see what happens at the end of the season”
