KIERAN TIERNEY has spoken to SkySports.com about the outgoing Celtic captain, Scott Brown.

The pair became close during Kieran’s rise to the first team at Celtic and as the Arsenal player says himself, they are still close to this day.

Kieran left two seasons ago in what was a surprise to many supporters who thought he would stick around a little longer.

Arsenal’s bid of £25m too good to turn down for the Hoops board and Kieran has since seized the chance to become a big name down in England.

Tierney spoke about the strangeness of what lies ahead with regards to a Celtic squad without Scott Brown, and perhaps the even stranger sight of the invincible treble winning captain turning out in red next season.

Kieran couldn’t praise Scott enough and you could tell the player was emotional about all the Celtic captain has done for him:

“I don’t think words would do Scott Brown justice for what he has done for me and the club. He’s been my best mate for years

“He is a legend. The word probably gets used a lot these days but he is the definition of a legend. He helped me so much, I’m so thankful for him and I’m still really close to him today.

“I think it’s only a matter of time, when he chooses to finish playing for good, that he will go in and be a manager, and he will be a top manager because he’s a winner.

“He likes to win and he knows how to win. I think it would be a pleasure to play under him and he’s be some manager. He’d getting everyone working for him, so he’ll be a top manager one day for sure.”

“I think I was surprised because him at Celtic is all we have really known.

“He obviously played at Hibs when he was young, but he’s been at Celtic for the last 13/14 years, so it’s hard to picture him anywhere else.

“So I’m surprised in that sense, but it’s obviously a great move for him in what he wants to do in his career.”

I’m sure there will be a bit of banter between the pair when Aberdeen come up against Celtic next season. The Arsenal defender is obviously still a big Celtic fan and he’ll be happy to wind Scott up if he’s on the receiving end of a Celtic win.
