NEIL LENNON has revealed one of his biggest regrets from his first time as Celtic manager and it still hurts him to this day.

The Irishman was appointed Celtic manager for the second time on Friday afternoon after landing the treble treble for the club.

However, the Parkhead gaffer admits the first full season in charge of the club still haunts him when Celtic lost the title late in the season. The bhoys were in a good position and heading for the title when their season was derailed and they ultimately fell short.

If Celtic had won that title, we’d be going into next season looking for ten in a row.

As Neil takes his seat back at the top of the Celtic family, he ponders what might have been and is hungry to make sure he lands the next two.

Whatever you say about Neil Lennon, he is a born winner and if there’s any proof needed of that just read his words below. He took Celtic to three titles before ending his last run at the club and the one he’s talking about is the title he lost.

“It’s all ifs, buts and maybes but we had it in our own hands with a few games to go and let that one slip.

“I’m owed one, I think. Does it still nag away? Of course it does. To lose the league in that fashion?

“We could be on nine in a row going into ten.

“We got to two cup finals as well, winning one and losing one.

“It was an exciting season but ultimately we fell short on the big one.”

If the new Celtic gaffer can get the team flying again then there’s absolutely no Celtic fans out there who would begrudge Neil being at the helm if that ten in a row day comes!
