The Celtic boss sat down with CelticTV on Monday evening to give Celtic fans an update on all things at the club. From the weekend’s 6-0 result to the youth academy and the players within it.

It was insightful and gave you a glimpse into the Irishman’s thinking as he looks to win in the present but build for the future. The one lad that comes to mind straight away is Jeremy Frimpong, coming at the start of September nobody thought they would see the former Manchester City man this season as he looked to play developmental. We’re not even done with October and the defender has played twice for the club, proving if you have the talent, and work hard in training you will get a chance.

As Neil Lennon spoke about Jeremie Frimpong he also name checked many in the current youth system who could come into the first team. Forgotten man Daniel Arzani being one of them.

Asked about players on the cusp or who could play at some point this season, Lennon said:

“Afolabi would come under that category, Lee O’Connor, Luca Connell – so we’re building, not just for the present.

“We’ve got Dembele, Oko-Flex and Kerr McInroy coming back from a long term injury – we’ve got Daniel Arzani. There’s young, hungry talent underneath what we already have.
