Former Celtic player Frank McAvennie believes Neil Lennon will drop Celtic defender Greg Taylor for the Glasgow Derby.
The game is coming up this Saturday and the manager now has the option of either Taylor or new signing Diego Laxalt.
There has been much debate this week about who should start the game but McAvennie seems confident the new bhoy will get the nod.
Taylor has struggled in the 3-5-2 formation at times but his performances have not been as bad as some like to make out.
The problem with putting Diego straight into the side, he has had no time to gel with certain team-mates who are still out on international duty — putting the Uruguayan at a major disadvantage.
The left-back has also not played a competitive game since June.
McAvennie, however, thinks Neil Lennon will field Diego:
“I think the new boy Laxalt will start.” The former West Ham man told Football Insider.
“I think he will come straight in for Greg Taylor because you do not get to Inter and AC Milan if you are not an exceptional player.
“The experience of playing in that derby will stand him in good stead, you can imagine when the San Siro is full.
“His pedigree is there so I would put him straight in and I think he will do well.”
It’s not beyond the realms of possibility but it would be a big surprise on the day.
Get them ready in the head we want this game BOSS it and win…
