Celtic defender Nir Bitton has insisted that the squad still contain the belief that we can turn this poor run of results around.

As quoted by BBC Sport, the Israeli claimed that every team has moments like this but the players believe it can still be turned around with the quality this squad of players possess.

“We believe in ourselves, we believe we can turn it around, we believe in our quality.

“Every team in history has this moment where they go on a bad run. It has happened to us now.”

This comes after yer another poor result in Europe, in a game which we led 2-0 conceding even more poor goals defensively, which Bitton had his say on but also mentioned the good moments that the side had in the game.

“We are disappointed with the result, but I felt we played good as a team against a top side,” Bitton said. “Again, we conceded four goals and it’s not good enough at this level. It’s not good enough at any level.

“But I think, in general, we showed some moments of how good we can be. We don’t listen to anyone outside the team, we believe in our quality, we have a strong squad, we have belief in ourselves and we need to show it now.”

I would say he is right, there were flashes last night but that was only in spells. It doesn’t matter how many ‘good spells’ in Europe you have, you cannot make the mistakes as did last night.

Maybe the players can/will turn it around but it’s got a stage where we have heard this all before. How many times this season do we need to hear this sort of thing before it happens.

Sunday’s game against St Johnstone is now a crucial one, which could make or break the side at this stage we are at in the season.
