DIEGO LAXALT’s agent has been in the media talking about his client and revealed the on-loan defender wants a move to England after his Celtic stay this season.

Celtic took the player on a season long loan from Milan and he’s proven to be a good acquisition for the team.

Many fans think the club should attempt to sign the Uruguayan in the summer but if his agent is to be believed, there’s little chance of that happening.

“Diego is playing a lot of games for Celtic and he is very happy there. They treat him very well in Glasgow.” Ariel Krasouski Explained to SunSport.

“In the summer he will return to Milan after his loan contract at Celtic ends.

“I think Milan will try and sell him at that point before his contract expires in a year’s time.

“Diego’s wish is to play next season in England. We’ll have to wait and see what happens.”

Some Celtic fans will take that personally but Celtic have utilised the loan market very well in Laxalt’s case. It allows us to bring in players for a season we otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford.

The player gets game time and Celtic get the benefit of having a quality playing their side.

You can never say never, but if Diego keeps playing well for Celtic he will be in the shop window for Milan in the summer. It’s unlikely Celtic would get into a bidding war with an EPL club over the left-back.

It does give Celtic a lot of time to scout and replace the defender between now and the end of the season Let’s hope that’s what they’re doing.
