ODSONNE EDOUARD’S agent is set for talks with the club according to RecordSport but the agent has spoken out regarding his clients future in the wake of Celtic’s premature Champions League exit.
With news some of the players have made their intentions clear of an exit, Eddy’s agent has offered Celtic fan some comfort as talks set to go ahead:
“Odsonne is happy at Celtic and enjoys life in Scotland.
“He is disappointed with the result on Wednesday especially as he was injured and could not play. I think the goal was certainly to qualify for the Champions League. That is football.
“I will speak with him.
“It is not crucial for Odsonne to be playing in the Champions League but it is important.
“We are going to wait because there is still a target for Celtic. There’s the Europa League and to go for 10 titles.
“Ten titles is important for Odsonne.
“We don’t know what will happen. For now he is with Celtic. We don’t discuss with any other team for now.”
Mentioning ten titles is important to Edouard will be a huge boost to a support base who wants to see him stay.
Of course, there’s a lot more at play here. Celtic’s failure to make the Champions League for three straight seasons means like the last two, their top players are up for grabs; Moussa Dembele and Kieran Tierney have landed the club £45m between them.
With no chance of a Champions League windfall, one or more of our top players will head for the exit.
If Celtic sold three players like Ajer, Ntcham and Rogic, it could be enough to balance the books to keep Eddy for the ten.
