The Edouard story doing the rounds overnight has been one we’ve been aware of for a while.
A few papers including SunSport have run with the story of Eddy potentially missing the start of NEXT season as well as Euro qualifiers because he’ll be selected for the Olympic team which is now scheduled to take place between the end of June and start of August.
At this moment in time. It’s really not an issue for Celtic or the Celtic support; there’s a wide acceptance after this season, the player is likely to move on anyway.
We also have a lot of fire power up front at the moment if Eddy was selected, we could cover for the three weeks or so he was away.
Eddy has smashed the goal scoring record for his country this week and if he’s likely to go to the Olympic’s while still at the club, I’m sure they would all come the best arrangement.
With the international break over, all the players are starting to return to Lennoxtown. The Celtic manager admitted this week he won’t have everyone back until the day before the Hibernian game, which isn’t ideal.
Hopefully, he can see enough on the training field to pick the best team for the trip to Easter Road.
