French News outlet L’Equipe are reporting Celtic star Olivier Ntcham will play no part in his countries under 21 games this international break with the player still nursing an injury.

Brendan Rodgers spoke about Ntcham’s recovery at the weekend, suggesting the player was almost there after suffering a setback.

However, it looks like it comes too early for Ntcham to play for his country but all signs point to a return to action for Celtic after the international break.

A muscle strain is being reported as the issue with Ntcham, these injuries can be tricky to deal with and Celtic will not want to take any chances.

The Frenchman signed a new four-year deal with the club at the weekend. Ntcham was subject to much interest in the summer and with the player and club both keen for him to stay at Celtic for the foreseeable future, a new deal was thrashed out.

Ntcham has scored some important goals for Celtic this season and the Livingston draw showed us we need our top players back to give Rodgers a bigger pool of talent to call upon to juggle Europe and domestic games.
