ANGE Postecoglou set a clear mandate from the beginning – his players were never to cease, never to surrender.

This directive was captured in a mic’d up training session, birthing the phrase, ‘We Never Stop’. Throughout his tenure at Celtic, fans embraced this mantra, invoking it whenever the team displayed exceptional resilience.

However, since Postecoglou’s departure to Spurs, a shadow of uncertainty loomed over the usage of the phrase, fans seemingly reluctant to repeat the words their former manager instilled in them.

Yet, after a pulsating match where Celtic secured a 97th-minute winner, following a 96th-minute equaliser from Motherwell, it seems the players have adopted a new rallying cry. Luis Palma was the first to caption his post with “never give up”.

Matt O’Riley, the scorer of the dramatic late goal, embraced this sentiment and captioned his post, “We never give up”.

It appears that Ange Postecoglou’s words are gradually fading into the annals of the past as the players align with the philosophies of their new manager, Brendan Rodgers. The evolved mantra not only symbolises a newfound resilience but also represents a shift in mindset, a fresh start under new leadership, with the players and fans collectively moving forward.
