Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has insisted that his side’s current league title race won’t impact how his team prepare for Monday evening’s Scottish Cup tie, as they target further success this campaign.

The Hoops face a week off from league action as they get set for the tough test of Dundee United, travelling to Tannadice looking to secure a third trip to Hampden Park this season.

Despite how close and the effort going into the Scottish Premiership title race, Postecoglou has insisted they are all in to lift the cup, as he targets further trophy success.

“It’s definitely not lost on us that there’s a cup to win. Obviously, the league has been the focus for the last few weeks, but we are more than well aware that we’re deep into a cup now and a few games away from hopefully contesting for another trophy,” he said, as quoted by the Daily Record.

“We’re definitely focused in on that, knowing that Monday night is going to be a good challenge for us against a good side away from home.

“Cup games always have a little bit of edge to them. They are always more exciting, so I’m looking forward to it.”

Over the past seven days, Postecoglou and his players have been handed some rare time on the training pitch, with no midweek action for the first time in many weeks.

So, the supporters and management staff alike will be expecting a fresh Celtic side, putting in a top-notch performance to reach the last four stage of a competition, which we have enjoyed a lot of success in over the years.

This fixture could prove as a chance for players to express themselves a little, too, with the pressures of a title race off and the one-off nature of a cup tie.
