Since Ange Postecoglou’s arrival in the summer, it has been a pretty hectic period for the 56-year old, who has pretty much been involved in non-stop games, already reaching the 50 game mark as Hoops boss.

It is to his huge credit that without having much time to settle and get down to work on the training ground, his impact can be seen on the way his side plays, and fans have loved every minute of the early success sustained.

The last week or so has been a good opportunity for Ange Postecoglou and his players after being handed to rare opportunity to get to work at Lennoxtown without any midweek action.

As quoted by Football Scotland, the Celtic manager has hailed that opportunity and is hoping to see the rewards of that work when his side take on Dundee United in the Scottish Cup on Monday evening.

“It just gives you a chance within your training context that you can’t when you have a lot of games.

“When we gave feedback to players, it meant we had to do that through video analysis rather than on the pitch, whereas now having no midweek game allows you to work on some things on the pitch.

“It means you can work at a higher intensity than you normally would because the players have recovered from the previous game.

“You’ve still got time until the next game, so you can raise the levels of everything.

“That doesn’t always translate into performance because sometimes players get into a rhythm of playing every three days, and they go through that really well, and not having a game could flatten them out.”

The beginning of the season now feels like a lifetime ago, as Celtic look to secure a third trip to Hampden Park this season, as well as currently sitting top of the Scottish Premiership and already having the first piece of silverware in the bag.

Without having too much time to work on the training ground, Ange and his coaching staff have got the players playing some brilliant stuff. So, the past week could be a great opportunity for some rest and also work to be done on the training ground.

Hopefully, come Monday night, we are able to see a fresh Celtic side, ready to go for the final push this campaign.
