CELTIC were defeated by The Rangers in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup on Sunday afternoon. The manager stood in his technical area to watch his team underperform at the national stadium.

The fans were in fine voice after the hoops took the lead early, but they failed to capitalise on their chances to increase their advantage. This came back to haunt the side, with The Rangers scoring to take the game to extra time and scoring in thirty minutes.

After the match, Postecoglou reflected on the game, labelling it ‘disappointing’. [Live on Premier Sports]

“It’s disappointing, really disappointing for us. I think it was a tight game, a typical semi-final. Both teams had their moments, and when it fell in extra time, they took theirs.

We had our chances. We hit the crossbar to make it 2-0, and it could’ve put the game away, but it’s just the nature of these games. Semi-finals are always tight, and there are always moments when things can change, but unfortunately, we couldn’t see it through”

The players will return to training this week with the manager keen to work hard before travelling to Dingwall on Sunday.

The players must not let this result affect them. They are still top of the league with five games to be played. The double is on, with the side lifting the League Cup before Christmas.
