His presence may be a distant memory for Celtic supporters, but former manager Ange Postecoglou has recently made headlines for his exploits in Glasgow. In his second and final season with the Hoops, the Aussie gaffer won the club a record eighth domestic clean sweep.
This, combined with his winning of the Professional Footballers’ Association Scotland Manager of the Season for 2022-23, has seen him nominated for The Best FIFA Men’s Coach award for 2022/23. Along with Postecoglou, Pep Guardiola, Xavi, Simone Inzaghi, and Luciano Spalletti were all nominated.
Clearly, the 58-year-old is in distinguished company, and it is refreshing to see a Celtic manager’s achievements be recognised along with some of the best in world football. The majority of those involved with the Hoops will be backing Postecoglou to get the award.
It would be refreshing to see the now Spurs boss win The Best FIFA Men’s Coach award. He is undoubtedly deserving of it, but he does face stiff competition from bosses who just won the Premier League, Champions League, La Liga, and Serie A.
