Since our last competitive fixture around two weeks ago, it feels like a lot has changed within the squad since then.

With two key exits in Ryan Christie and Odsonne Edouard and several bits of deadline day business, we could be going into Saturday’s home game against Ross County with a new-look side.

So, we thought we would take a look at the team Ange Postecoglou might look to play on his return to Parkhead.

Joe Hart

The Englishman has been a solid summer addition between the sticks, and at this point, the goalkeeping position is hit. Without any action over international duty, you would imagine the veteran stopper is looking forward to playing again.

Josip Juranovic/Tony Ralston

The right-back position will be a very interesting one to see who Ange Postecoglou goes with.

Ralston has been on brilliant form since rejuvenating his career until the 56-year old. Whilst Juranvic is one of the newest recruits, who made his debut at left-back in the Glasgow Derby.

There is possibly a chance Ralston is the one who will start this one, with the Croatian having a busy time away on international duty. One thing that is good to see is we now have options in that area of the park.

Stephen Welsh

The Scotland u21s internationalist has made a solid start to the season and been the best central defender so far this season.

He is another player who looks to have improved under Postecoglou so early in his Celtic career. So, it feels like he is most likely the main choice starter at this point.

Carl Starfelt/Cameron Carter-Vickers

Another two of the new recruits, this position feels like it’s more up for grabs.

In the last couple of fixtures, Starfelt has slowly started to show his ability at the back but has also had his shaky moments.

That is not to write his Celtic career off so early because there is still faith he will show that more consistently. He also has been on international duty, though. So, Ange might want to try out his deadline day recruit in CCV, who has spent the last few weeks training at Lennoxtown.

Liam Scales

To the Celtic fans, Liam Scales is a bit of an unknown quantity coming in from Shamrock Rovers.

There seems to have been some positive reports about the Irishman, though, who earned his first call-up for his nation last week, and he could now be in line for his debut this weekend.

Greg Taylor could also be in line for a start, but after picking up an injury before the break, there has been no update on his progress as of yet.

Callum McGregor – David Turnbull – Tom Rogic

This midfield three has been Postecoglou’s favourite since coming into the job, and at times, it has looked very impressive.

In a home fixture like this, it feels like we could see the best out of Turnbull and Rogic in particular for this game.

One disappointment with the transfer business was the lack of midfield additions, so it is probably likely this will be the midfield anyway, depending on the fitness of James McCarthy.

Liel Abada

The 19-year old has made a superb start to life at Parkhead, with some not sure what to expect from the Israeli winger when he joined.

Last time out at Ibrox, he was a bit quiet in that game, so he will be looking forward to getting back out there at Parkhead and try to add to his goal tally.

Filipe Jota

Joining on a season-long loan with the option to buy, many Celtic fans are excited by the deal for the talented winger.

As a player, he looks like the perfect type for Postecoglou in his attacking style of play, so it will be interesting to see what the former Socceroos manager can do to develop the former Benfica youngster.

He seems raring to go going off his comments in the press conference during the week.

Georgios Giakoumakis/Albian Ajeti

With Kyogo Furuhashi officially out injured, this is a good chance for both strikers to show their worth under Postecoglou.

Giakoumakis will be an interesting one; having not played in a couple of months, it may be unlikely he starts right from the off in this one. Some minutes off the bench will be useful if not, though.

So this could be Ajeti’s big opportunity to show his worth. A goal or two would do his and fans confidence a whole lot of good.

Looking at the likely eleven, it is certainly beginning to have a new look to it under Postecoglou. Having brought in 12 players, that was always going to happen at some point.

These players have had some time to settle in now at the club and will now be looking forward to taking to the Parkhead turf this weekend.
