A report from French website Les Violets has branded the transfer of Christopher Jullien to Celtic as ‘unimaginable’ and stated interest from England and Spain would derail any deal the Scottish champions want to do for the defender.

Jullien has been linked with Celtic for the past week or so and the potential deal has captured the imagination of hopeful Celtic fans who would love to see the player come in and play his football at Parkhead. However, the large fee of between €8-10million Toulouse is looking for is a big stumbling point for the club. The website in question reported: “Seeing him (Jullien) wearing the green and white jersey seems unimaginable at the moment”

Celtic have lost two major centre backs this summer with Filip Benkovic heading back to Leicester while Dedryck Boyata signed a deal with Hertha Berlin and has made the move to the Bundesliga. Kristoffer Ajer and Jozo Simunovic are Celtic’s two main defenders at the moment and Neil Lennon faces a race against time to strengthen his back line before the games come thick and fast.

If Jullien has interest from elsewhere then Celtic would stand little chance of bringing the big defender to the club.
