Celtic target Timothy Weah has signed a one-year extension to his current PSG contract. The extension keeps the player in the capital until 2021 as reported by L’equipe. This is a clear sign from the Paris club that they see the young forward as one for the future.

If he doesn’t make it with PSG down the line, the French champions are making sure any suitors will pay top dollar for their player. Yesterday Celtic signed Oliver Burke on loan. The details of his contract state that it’s a loan deal, there will be no option to buy.

If Celtic fans are expecting an Edouard type situation with Weah, Burke or even Benkovic they might very well be disappointed at the end of the season. It looks like these loan deals are in fact just a loan. Celtic fans already want Filip for keeps, he has been a solid enforcer in the Bhoys backline. Burke has to prove himself first and the Weah loan still has to be officially confirmed.

You get the feeling that because these players are out and out loans, that they will set the SPFL on fire. Either way, Brendan Rodgers is in desperate need of some new faces for the second half of the season.
