Celtic are in the market for a left-back on deadline day, after seemingly searching for a suitable player for the whole window.

Their efforts to sign Hugo Bueno from Wolves were knocked back. The Scottish club is now exploring other options, including Paris Saint-Germain’s Layvin Kurzawa, who has emerged as a potential target.

Kurzawa, 31, has had limited playing time at PSG this season, with only one league appearance to his name. This has led to his agents making Celtic aware of his availability this January deadline day. [Mail Plus]

Despite this, his experience at the top level, including 13 caps for France, makes him an intriguing prospect. During his recent loan spell at Fulham during the 2022/2023 season, he made three appearances in the Premier League and three in the FA Cup. In the FA Cup, Kurzawa demonstrated his offensive capabilities, scoring two goals and providing an assist.

It’s not the Deadline Day signing that fans had in mind, but at least it’s something.

  1. Message to David Turnbull; Do not leave Celtic for a Championship Club. Stick it out at Celtic and work hard at getting the playmaker’s place. You see I believe that O’Reilly and Hattache along with Abada will be on the move in the summer. You have never really let us down at any time when you came on to the pitch. So David stay with Celtic and work hard at training and you will get your rewards. So please do not sign for Cardiff Stay in paradise and at least win some trophies with Celtic.
