CHRIS SUTTON pulled no punches this evening as he spoke about Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard and his form this term.

Sutton and McCoist had a back and forth on theories why the Frenchman hasn’t been his usual self.

They came to the conclusion the player might have been planning on a move away that never happened for whatever reason.

Sutton knows how good the striker can be and is frustrated at his lack of influence on Celtic’s season to date.

The bhoys haven’t really got going at all in such a pivotal season, they need their talisman to be firing.

The former Celtic frontman and BT Sports pundit thinks if Eddy has his heart set on a move away then he better get his act together and start producing for the Scottish Champions.

“If I’m honest, the big thing is for Odsonne Edouard to turn up this season. We all know what he can do and the form he can produce. He is the best player in Scotland by a stretch if he turns up but we haven’t seen it this season.” Sutton said live on BT Sports as cited by the Daily Record.

“If you are Neil Lennon you are saying, ‘you want your move away? That’s fine but you have to start showing it on the pitch.’

“He built a reputation for himself last season and was extraordinary but at this moment in time there will be clubs who were looking at him who have scouted him this season who will be thinking, ‘what’s wrong with him?’.”

Neil Lennon held Eddy back against Motherwell before the break, but he could be tempted to field him from the start at Easter Road. After a successful international break hitting the ground running on Saturday could be the best thing for the frontman.
