Rare Jock Stein footage emerged on Monday evening and we shared it with our Twitter followers at the time.
The clip saw the Celtic legend talking about over confidence and how when his players thought there was no chance of getting beat, that’s when they would be beaten.
Instead, he encourage his players to believe they were capable of losing. He sent them out onto the field making sure every one of his bhoys knew they could lose any given game.
There are parallels with what he’s saying and the current Celtic team, they could all be doing with listening to this short clip.
The most iconic quote comes at the end of the clip when Jock talks about luck. Celtic’s opponents believing they were just luck, Stein quipped, if they kept thinking we’re lucky, maybe they’ll continue to win things. The Celtic legend certainly had a way of capturing anyones attention. Have a watch:
