Celtic’s new bhoy Diego Laxalt has cleared up the only concern some Celtic fans had about his arrival – the full-back WILL be able to play against his parent club Milan in the Europa League.

Hoody season

While UEFA prohibit teams from stopping their loan players playing against them in European competition, it was thought a gentleman’s agreement might have been something Milan looked for — Clyde one confirmed that’s not the case

Over and above that, anyone who has concerns about the player’s real allegiance, Laxalt told CelticTV his heart is now at Celtic:

“It doesn’t really matter who the opposition is as my head and heart is now at Celtic and I can’t wait to play and show what I can do”.

Celtic will now press on and look to get Diego ready for the heavy run of fixtures he and his teammates are set to come up against.

The Glasgow Derby then Milan will be a baptism of fire for the Uruguayan. Hopefully he can hit the ground running and prove to be a top signing for the season.

Celtic had a good window, keeping all their top players while also bringing in Ajeti, Barkas, Turnbull, Moi, Duffy and Laxalt. We’re in a strong position if we can put all the pieces together.
