Kyogo Furuhashi has given Celtic the lead against Hearts at Celtic Park just three minutes into the game.

A Matt O’Riley corner was punched away by Zander Clark in the Hearts goal, with the ball falling to Reo Hatate on the edge of the box.

The Japanese midfielder played the ball into Kyogo yards from goal, and the Hoops striker left no doubt with an incredible header past Clark and Lawrence Shankland, who was on the line.

Despite a VAR review for an offside against Kyogo, it was clear that he was not offside, with Shankland on the goal line.

A decision was eventually made to give Celtic an early 1-0 lead.

Hearts have proven difficult for Celtic this season, winning the previous two games home and away against the Hoops.

However, with VAR’s intervention at Tynecastle largely shifting the course of the game, it was evident that today’s match would pose a much tougher challenge for the Jam Tarts against an in-form Celtic side.

Despite an early goal for Celtic, Steven Naismith’s side have been creating chances in a competitive match up until the time of writing.
