Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers spoke post-match about how pleased he was with his side’s performance in an impressive 3-0 win over Hearts at Celtic Park.

Rodgers also highlighted first-team coach Gavin Strachan and match analyst Greg Wallace for their contributions to the win.

He said: [BBC Sport],”I thought we were really dangerous today from our set pieces. Delivery was really good and it’s a big credit to Gavin Strachan and Greg Wallace.

“They look at our set pieces and I thought we were dangerous, and the first one comes from the second phase of that and staying alive within the box.”

Rodgers certainly showed his humble side by lavishing praise on Strachan and Wallace, who at times will go unheralded for the work they do behind the scenes.

However, for the Celtic manager to recognise this post-match and make the media aware says a lot about the type of person he is and the culture he sets.

Wallace specifically is not mentioned a lot, whereas Strachan is more so, with his father, former Celtic and Scotland manager Gordon Strachan.

However, it it is clear that Rodgers has been impressed with the work that has gone into set pieces.

At times this season, Celtic have struggled to defend corners specifically, and Strachan and Wallace have clearly identified that as a weakness, focusing on improving Celtic’s approach in set-piece situations as the season went on.
