When it comes to signings, Ange Postecoglou and Celtic have been pretty much bang on every time, apart from once.

In the summer, the Australian manager welcomed Osaze Urhoghide to Glasgow. The former Sheffield Wednesday player was brought in for a development fee and gave Postecoglou another option at the back.

However, according to The Athletic, Parkhead chiefs believe they have players in their B team at a higher level than the man who is out on loan in Belgium.

More specifically, it’s believed that Dane Murray and Bosun Lawal are closer to the first-team level than Urhogide.

The B team captain has played for the first team captain during Champions League qualifiers. He was impressive then, and it was clear that he was a decent player. He is aged just 18, and there is a lot of development still to be made.

Lawal has yet to make the step up. However, when watching him in the B team, it’s clear to see he’s a class above the rest. He strolls through the game. Those who watched the B team Glasgow Derby were impressed by the former Watford academy player; this was his first game back from injury after sending months on the sidelines.

This leaves the future of Urhogide up in the air. It was surprising in January when It was confirmed his loan contract has an option-to-buy clause installed in it, and he has admitted he is interested in making his stay in Belgium permemant. It’s unlikely Osaze will ever make the grade at Celtic.
