Former Celtic striker turned pundit John Hartson thinks centre-forward Adam Idah has all the attributes to become a successful permanent signing for the Hoops.

The Irishman is currently on loan at the Celts from Norwich City and so far, has made quite an impact.

Across 11 league appearances in Scotland’s top flight, Idah has scored seven goals, assisting a further two.

His strikes at Easter Road, Fir Park, and Ibrox were critical but some of his overall performances have left a few fans frustrated.

Over the last two games at Hampden and Dens Park, the 23-year-old hasn’t entirely set it alight but for a player of his age who is not getting consistent minutes, one must expect inconsistency.

CeltsAreHere revealed last month that Norwich want north of six million pounds for his services and Hartson thinks signing him permanently would be wise.

The Welshman believes the big man from Cork has attributes that can make him a prosperous long-term acquisition.

He said: [Glasgow Times] “He’s big and powerful, he can run in behind and he knows how to finish.

“He could be a great signing. It can be a gamble with new signings, but Celtic will know what they are gong to get. They know he can make an impact in games, they know he can score big goals and handle the pressure.

“It’s a decision for Brendan Rodgers but I have been impressed with him. He seems a level-headed boy who has a lot of attributes.”
