It wasn’t so long ago the word crisis was getting thrown around. Celtic have their flaws but in the big games, when they’ve needed to do the job domestically they have always done it under Brendan Rodgers.

The remarkable stats in cup competition are there for all to see.

Celtic’s victory over Hearts at the weekend was Brendan Rodgers’ 21st domestic cup game in charge and his 21st win.

Since taking the reigns at Celtic Park the Irishman has taken the club to FIVE consecutive finals.

In those 21 games, Celtic have scored 67 goals and only conceded seven.

It was Ryan Christie who was the spark in the Celtic team on Sunday, coming on in the second half to help his side to an impressive victory.

Celtic could have scored more on the day if it hadn’t been for the woodwork and some heroics by the Hearts goalkeeper.

The bhoys will now look to make it five domestic trophies in a row as they prepare for December’s final.

This will be the third time Brendan Rodgers will come up against Aberdeen in a domestic final. The League Cup final ended 3-0 to Celtic and the famous Scottish Cup win ended 2-1 with that late Tom Rogic winner to land Rodgers firs treble.
