The Belgian international was the captain of the club but was stripped of the role this summer, with the manager opening the door for an exit.
Valencia has been a great presence in European football in recent years and could be considered a step up for the 31-year-old.
With two years left on his deal in Germany, the Spanish club are trying to take the player on loan for the next season, but Hertha Berlin is looking to move the player on permanently.
Boyata’s Celtic Career
Many fans have opposing views on the player’s time at Celtic. He was part of Brendan Rodgers’ invincible team and showed a great side to his game throughout the four years he was at Celtic. However, the player also had his fair share of howlers, which overshadow his Celtic career.
However, things turned sour at the end of his Celtic stay. Fans turned on the player who had downed his tools, with the Green Brigade unveiling a banner which read ‘Boyata not fit to wear the jersey’.
