BT SPORTS are leaving nothing off the table when it comes to how they deal with the Ibrox club going forward.

Their Trumpian banning of pundits has made the club a laughing stock in recent days.

Two former Celtic stars Neil Lennon and Chris Sutton were denied entry to Ibrox on Thursday when they were booked by the TV broadcaster to cover the Celtic game from the Ibrox studio – common practice with BT who alternate studious between Celtic Park and Ibrox depending on what club is at home.

BT management have been far from impressed by the Ibrox ban imposed on them, leaving them scarpering to sort out a studio in London with Stan Petrov as a pundit instead.

BT spent a whopping £1.2 BILLION on the Champions League and Europa League rights this season and are clearly perplexed by the scenario they were met with on Thursday.

One of the scenarios drawn up is to just house any BT team in Celtic Park regardless if the game is at Ibrox.

A well-placed BT Sport source told Record Sport Online : “If this scenario comes up again then the safety of our staff is paramount.

“However, the cost to us doubles if we have to set up two studios so it’s more economical to have just one base.

“Therefore, one option being considered is simply to set the studio up at Parkhead. It seems ludicrous considering we won’t have the fans arriving for the game as they will be at Ibrox.

“Something would be lost and Ibrox Stadium will miss out on the exposure of a full house on a European night which makes great viewing as it showcases a magnificent arena to the world.

“But we could be left with no option. At a time when (Rangers managing director) Stewart Robertson has said they are looking for more money to be invested in the Scottish game it doesn’t make much sense to be upsetting a major UEFA stakeholder.”

We’ll find out if BT are all talk the next Ibrox home game. If they mean business, they will agains ask for Chris Sutton to gain access to the stadium and even Neil Lennon and see what the response will be.

If it’s anything other than positive, they must put their foot down.

  1. Now that Sutton and Lennon have been banned from ipox, we now know, as we have for many a year, that the rotten apples are all in the ipox board room. He bigotry start in there, and that is why they take very little action against the scum that gets away with trashing Glasgow City center, not once but twice, amounting too thirty thousand, and count how many were arrested? The club who play out of ipox are poison, as are their support!!!. Scum and shame of Scotland! Yes they have done it again! Security??? Blawbags and bigots of the highest decree. Filth filth filth filth. They know no better! Will say a prayer at Mass today for you all. But you are still middens

  2. The Ibrox club are proof that the lunatics can certainly take over the asylum. They’re now proving to the world what they are instead of just Scotland. I’m loving every minute of this as it’s a ‘how not to run a football club’ episode. The more stupid they become the more they play into the hands of the Catholic and Irish communities who they continue to peddle their spurious bile against. I wonder if they’re teetering on the brink of extinction again and they’re trying to go out with a bang. No club can sustain the year on year losses they have and still be a viable concern. If they do go under again we have to keep them there and not allow a third entity to perpetuate the same club myth. It’s a circus over there at the moment and the clowns are running the show.

  3. SCUM OLDCO AND NEWCO PLUS FANS THE CORRUPT SFA SPFL ARE COWARDS AND JUST SHOWS EVERY FAN IN THE SPFL THAT THEIR ONLY INTERESTED IN SAVING SEVCO AND THE OLD FIRM NAME SCOTTISH FOOTBALL SHOCKING NOW ITS RATS THAT RUN OUR GAME NO MORE MONEY FROM ME SCUMBAGS MASONS.
