Celtic are set to miss the boat on Everton’s Josh King with FourFourTwo claiming the players is in talks with Galatasaray.

The 29-year-old was reportedly on Celtic’s radar back in early April [RecordSport] but only if Eddie Howe was in the position.

The tabloid taking the view Howe would look to reunite with his former player should he take the Celtic gig.

King moved to the Merseyside club in the summer and has played 9 times in the Premier League this season, looking set to leave on a free at the end of the season. Transfermarkt reports that King’s market value is £9 million – a bargain buy for anyone on the lookout for an attacker.

Despite there being no formal contact reported from Celtic’s side it feels like a missed opportunity and only stands to highlight we might be missing out on more potential deals like this.

It’s imperative we get the right people in place as soon as possible.
