We’re verging on May and still no announcement from Celtic on the way forward.

Football Insider believes this has a lot to do with Celtic’s unwillingness to budge over who their choice of Director of Football.

The website claims Dermot Desmond wants to see a major shift and improvement in recruitment and they want their own well-vetted man in place to begin the rebuild.

FI reveal Fergal Harkin is the man the Celtic board are hanging their hat on and any new manager or better put, head coach must get on board with the infrastructure.

Celtic’s recruitment has been spotty for years and we could have spared ourselves one of our worst seasons of the modern era if we tackled it sooner.

The club wants a man who is going to be there for the long haul and oversee football operations at the club.

Talks of Eddie Howe wanting his own man for recruitment means this could very well be the impasse we’re currently enduring.

If Celtic and Dermot are getting negative vibes from any head coach about the system they will have no choice but to look elsewhere.

We hope this isn’t the case because Eddie Howe seems like the perfect appointment for Celtic at this moment in time.

  1. Don’t say that later will be better, when you’re stuck in a moment, and you can’t get out out of it.

    Feels like deja vu again!
