Celtic have a perfect record in Glasgow derbies this season. The Hoops defeated their city rivals by a goal to nil at Ibrox in September before securing a vital 2-1 win at the end of last month.

In both of those games, however, there have been no away at fans in Govan nor Glasgow’s east end. That could be set to change.

According to The Times, Celtic have opened talks with their arch-rivals about the possibility of having 750 fans inside Ibrox for the trip on April 6th. A similar number would then be granted to Rangers for their visit to Parkhead post-split.

It is said that SPFL encouraged the clubs to try and settle the debacle because there have been no away fans at any league Glasgow derby in over a year. The last four have had only home supporters present.

There will be rightful concerns over safety with a 750 allocation, particularly for Celtic fans at Ibrox, and this is something the club have outlined previously. Due to this, it remains to be seen whether the clubs will come to an agreement, but if this is one step closer to old derby allocations, then all the better.

  1. Due to the behaviour of these fans from both sides, it’s best to keep them apart.
750 fans should not be considered.
If away fans are returning the full allocation must also return.
Should this happen I do hope they can show each other and the stadium respect before, during, and after the match.

  2. The old firm ended 2012 and since then sevco have behaved like a spoilt child it will never be back to where it was years ago yes then they were foes but the two clubs thought one without the other wouldn’t work sponsorship had to have the two clubs but since the liquidation of rangers no matter what strings were pulled it was rfc ibrox and Murray Park should have been sold and maybe rented back to new club that was a sham Celtic F.C 1888 has prospered new sponsors so it is proved that after demise of RFC the new club are blaming everyone and anyone for the old co but everything legal and illegal has been done to make it look like same club but in the business world RFC are dead 😉
