Celtic are set to announce the signing of Nicolas Kuhn from Rapid Vienna imminently. The German is already in Glasgow ahead of a switch from the Austrian giants.

Now that the deal to sign the 24-year-old is more or less done, Celtic fans’ attention has turned to other positions. Indeed, Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph provided an update on the ones that the club are looking to strengthen.

On X, he was asked if a striker and left-back were next on the agenda after the acquisition of Kuhn to which he replied ‘That’s the aim for the club’.

This update doesn’t provide any particularly new knowledge, but it serves to strengthen the knowledge that the club are after two new arrivals in the positions mentioned.

Coming from a trusted source, this news is hugely positive and if the champions did manage to bring in a left-back and centre-forward, as well as Kuhn, before the close of the window, it would be billed as a successful one by supporters. It depends on who is brought in in each position, though.

For example, supporters don’t want to see any more projects and want players in the ilk of Kuhn who have valid experience and quality alike. Men like this are ready to contribute straight away and that is exactly what Brendan Rodgers needs in an expected tussle for the title.
