It’s no secret Kristoffer AJer wants to leave the club before the window ends but until now it’s all been pretty civil.

However, over the past few days we’ve been hearing of potential discontent between Ajer and the club over the way the situation is now being handled.

Kris wanted to leave before the ten in a row season but was convinced to stay on and give the Hoops one more season and was promised a move away this summer – as long as a club met Celtic’s valuation.

This is where things get mirky, Celtic have the player under contract and ultimately they can ask for what they want, but what constitutes as a good offer?

SunSport reported Brentford had made a bid of £12m for Ajer with an extra £3m in addons should he meet certain criteria during his Brentford career. It was knocked back by the club and Celtic are holding firm on what they want.

The Cynic’s Christian Wolf is a well-placed source when it comes to his compatriot and he’s described Ajer as ‘absolutely furious’ about how Celtic are handling the situation.

It’s not in Celtic’s best interests to keep an unhappy player and it’s certainly not wise to anger a player to the point he could stay and see out his contract before leaving for free.

This has to come to an end; Dom McKay and the board must do what’s best for the club and the player and compromise to make this move away happen.

  1. It may not be the price Celtic want for Ajer, but if we can get up to 15 million for him, why keep a player who wants to go?. Yes we have sold some players far too cheaply, and hopefully learned lessons from them, but in the transfers market we seem to drag our feet every season, and then mostly gems appear. Come on Celts, let’s get moving on the transfers!! Hail Hail.

  2. After the season of discontent why would you keep a player who could be disruptive?
AP said if a player wants to keep playing at Celtic we will help all we can to make this happen and if he wants to leave good luck and good bye!
    So get him out now!
