Last night It was reported that John Kennedy was in contention for a “move upstairs”.
SunSport broke the “exclusive” as they have many times this season but Stuart Hodge has since said that the news is “nonsense”.
In his tweet, he said he could confirm that John Kennedy has not been in discussions with the club regarding the opportunity to take on a new role of Sporting Director/Director of Football.
The latest update from me on #CelticFC’s reworking of the management and sporting structure:
I can confirm that the reports about John Kennedy discussing a Sporting Director role are complete nonsense.

CeltsAreHere understands the next Director of Football is already working behind the scenes at Celtic, so Stuart is likely to be right that the “exclusive” is simply not true.
Personally, I think time away from the club would suit all parties involved. John Kennedy has been praised by Brendan Rodgers, who wanted Kennedy down in Leicester with him.
Time away from the club would allow Kennedy to develop as a manager and if successful there is nothing to stop him come back to manage his boyhood club.
