Reported striker target Thomas Henry is set to complete his move from Belgium to recently promoted Italian Serie A side Venezia.

As reported by Sun Sport, Venezia has won the race against several sides across Europe in their pursuit of the OH Leuven frontman, who was linked with a move to Celtic during the week.

The 26-year old scored 24 goals in 34 league starts last season, and the writing appeared to be on the wall that he would be making a move away from the club after being left out of the squad for this weekend fixture against KAS Eupen.

There was some suggestion that fellow Belgian League side Gent were also close to completing a deal for the Frenchman. However, that appeared to fall through at the later stages, with both sides failing to agree on the fee.

Celtic’s name was mentioned several times in reports, but at this point, it doesn’t look as though there was too much in those links, and the club has moved straight on to pursuing other options available.
