Former Celtic manager Gordon Strachan is reportedly in line for a senior role at the club as Technical Director.

According to Sun Sport, Strachan is supposedly going to be offered the Hoops’ role as the club continues their shakeup behind the scenes.

The 64-year old has been doing a similar role at Scottish Championship side Dundee, alongside his punditry roles – including on Celtic TV and the season ticket pass last campaign.

In the reports, majority shareholder Dermot Desmond is quoted as being a fan of Strachan’s from his first spell in Glasgow as manager.

Some fans expressed their disappointment at the reports last night when they were released on social media.

The keyword around Celtic in recent weeks, when it comes to changes behind the scenes, has been ‘modernise’. However, appointing Strachan doesn’t fill many supporters with confidence.

The Technical Director/Director of Football role is one which Celtic have been on the hunt for this summer, and now it looks as though it will be coming to an end soon, with the appointment of the former Hoops and Scotland National Team side.

  1. We don’t need to employ another Strachan, we need to sack the two we already have, as neither has contributed anything to CELTIC.

  2. Same auld story wae Strapon, tough strikers, strong midfield, saft as putty defence. Not surprised he never won much. Given all the talent on tap in the Hoops reserves when he was coach (OK he liked the sound of his own voice, and sent all most free spirits down there from the first team to wind down their contracts). Couldnt manage a menage the ginger midget Great midfielder though. He can still do the halftime draw, as that’s all he would be fit for at Paradise.
