Alex Valle joined the Hoops this summer to add depth at left-back and challenge Greg Taylor for the starting jersey.

However, when he arrived, fans were frustrated that there was no option to buy clause included in the agreement.

The 20-year-old, currently impressing in Glasgow, had the chance to anchor a buyout clause in his contract but chose to evaluate his career options as the season progresses.

Valle’s starting to show his quality on the field, particularly now that he’s poised to fill in for the injured Greg Taylor in upcoming critical matches against Aberdeen and Atalanta. With Taylor sidelined, Valle’s opportunities to establish himself as a regular starter for Celtic could increase significantly.

His recent performance in Celtic’s 2-1 victory in Dingwall has already started to turn heads, earning him praise for his attacking play down the left flank, particularly in tandem with Daizen Maeda.

However, for Celtic, if they do wish to make Valle’s move permanent, there is seemingly a low release clause in the player’s contract – somewhere in the region of £2.5m.

If he continues to impress, it’s likely that Celtic will explore this release clause and see if a deal is doable.
