The news overnight from MailSport claiming Lucien Favre is interested in the Celtic job has been greeted with a lukewarm response by the Celtic support on the whole.
It seems a little out of left field and something that’s taken us by surprise.
It appears the initial reports are pie in the sky.
Freelance journalist Rob Bairner has confirmed the former Dortmund boss is looking for a job closer to his home in Switzerland according to a close friend, which would almost certainly rule out the Celtic job.
Correction: Favre has never actually said this, but Paul Breitner, who is a close friend, did.

There has been loose links with candidates like Favre and even Thierry Henry already this week but they’re not viable options.
There seems to be a notion one of the handful of managers who are constantly linked to the job will get the position before the end of April.
A left field appointment would be interesting but I’d say the likes of Enzo Maresca, Eddie Howe and even Roy Keane are all interesting in their own right.
