Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers spoke to the media on Monday afternoon after his side put St. Johnstone to the sword less than 24 hours earlier. CeltsAreHere were in attendance and asked the double-treble winner about winger Marco Tilio.

The Australian internationalist made his debut against Motherwell over a week ago although in the St. Johnstone game at the weekend, he wasn’t in the squad. On this, Rodgers said: “He’s okay. He is training away. I think because we had some injuries he got himself onto the bench but other players have come back and he found himself outside of that again.”

From this, one can take that there are several players ahead of Tilio in the pecking order. This is a concern considering key wingers Liel Abada and Daizen Maeda are out injured and the 22-year-old can still barely muster any minutes.

In fairness to Tilio, he has struggled with injury since moving to Celtic and the lifestyle change from Australia to Glasgow will have been an almighty one for the former Melbourne City man. Nevertheless, if someone is bought for £1.5 million like Tilio has, you would expect them to have made an impact by now.
