Celtic won by three goals to nil away at Livingston on Saturday afternoon. Reo Hatate, Matt O’Riley, and Daizen Maeda scored for the Hoops, with the latter’s performance particularly catching the eye.
Throughout the ninety, Maeda was electric. The Japanese internationalist never stopped, and put in an admirable shift up top when James Forrest came off.

He eventually got his reward late on with a stunning finish, and his manager heaped praise on him at full-time. Brendan Rodgers said (Sky Sports): “I think when you have Daizen Maeda in your team you’re never down to 10 men, he puts in the work rate of two players, unbelievable mentality and he gets his reward in the end.”
Rodgers’ words sum up the thoughts of everyone who watched this afternoon’s game. Maeda was utterly outstanding, each week, and he continues to show why he was rewarded with a new contract over the summer.
