BRENDAN RODGERS has heaped praise on his £9million striker after the Frenchman put Rosenborg to the sword.

The bhoys got off to a difficult start on the night but Rodgers tweaked his formation as the game went on to help the team.

Just before the break Odsonne got his first goal, then straight after the interval Ntcham curled a sublime shot into the net from outside the box.

Odsonne would make the away game a little more comfortable when he went through one and one with the keeper and proceeded to chip him with ease.

After the game, Rodgers spoke of the big man’s qualities.

“I think that is a mark of top, top strikers – a boy to have that confidence on the big occasion.

“To show that calmness under pressure was brilliant. He was very good.

“You were just wondering what he was going to do, slide it in or go round the keeper.

“I don’t think anyone thought he was going to dink it, but he has shown that from the day he walked in.”
