The Celtic game against Ross County has the usual significance; three points is a must in the Highlands. Beyond that, the big talking point is the game will be one of two test events in Scottish football this week as we get set to put our best foot forward so fans can return to the action.

300 Ross County supporters will be allowed into the stadium and will have to follow strict guidelines in order to make sure the event is a success. There’s no away supporters permitted in any test events and if this does get the green light to happen elsewhere, it’s unlikely away supporters will be allowed in the grounds any time soon.

But to get some semblance of atmosphere, getting fans back through the door safely is the priority.

In the West of Scotland, a full or even half full Celtic Park seems like a million miles away after local restrictions were introduced to stop the spread of the virus. Anybody who had designs on getting back before the end of the year will be in for a rude awakening. This is a long and we all must play our part.

There will be tears the day Celtic Park is fully open and that first You’ll Never Walk Alone is belted out by the home support.
