STEFAN SCEPOVIC move to Celtic is edging closer today after Sporting Gijon manager Abelardo Fernandez spoke about the move that will see the striker switch Spain for Scotland.

“Stefan is no longer part of my plans! he said.

“His transfer is a done deal and because we don’t want to endanger his move, he is not training with the players anymore.”

The fee is believed to be around £2.7million after Gijon had earlier thrown out lower bids from Celtic.

Stefan who has scored 23 goals in 39 appearances for the club is also a full Serbian international.

In September he became the first player in the history of Sporting Gijon who managed to score in his first five consecutive games.

A start like that in Scotland would be advantageous!

Once signed he could see action as early as the Dundee game on Sunday.
